From your question I think you are talking about dedicated server. If you have a dhared server, you would not be able to clone to the entire serve, in this case you would have to backup your shared server. And you didn't certainly mention the Operating System you are using. I will try to explain both the linux system and windows system here. First, I would explain how you can clone your linux server.

Use native clonint tool, dd - it will not be an exaggeration if I mention it as the best clonign tool of linux. To clone a partition use the following command. But use this tool with great caution. If you make any mistake, prabably you would loose some data.

This YouTube tutorial shows how to use the tool.

Clonezilla - this tool comes with great features like drives and partitions backup to image files or other drive, block-for-block copy directly hard drive or another drive, GRUB 1 and 2 reinstallation, accessbility of image files on local disks,  servers like SSH server, SAMBA server and  NFS server. You can use Clonezilla to backup and restore over SSH remote pc. Here is a YouTube video you may find helpful.

TAR- will let you compress your system into tar. use the following commands

sudo tar -cvpzf backup.tar.gz --exclude=/backup.tar.gz --one-file-system /
sudo tar -xvpzf /path/to/backup.tar.gz -C /restore/location --numeric-owner

Use the first command to create the tar achrive and the next to copy the archive into hard drive or where you want to backup.
